The King of Fighters XIII is the upcoming thirteenth installment of The King of Fighters series published by SNK Playmore. There was an official preview of the game that was held on March 25, 2010 at Akihabara.[3] The game will also be the conclusion of Ash Crimson’s story arc which started in The King of Fighters 2003.[4] The game design director, Yamamoto, states that he wants the game to be played by the fans of the series who would be able to use their experience from previous titles. Additionally, however, he does not want the game to be too similar to its prequels, though he and his staff’s aim for the game is to capture the charm from previous titles.[5]

Super Street Fighter IV is a 2010 fighting game produced by Capcom. It is an updated version of Street Fighter IV and has been said to mark the definitive end of the fourth installment of the Street Fighter series.[3] Having been deemed as too large an update to be deployed as DLC, the game was made into a stand-alone title, but given a lower price than that of a full retail game.[4] It was released on April 27, 2010 in America, April 28, 2010 in Japan, and April 30, 2010 in Europe.[5] Super Street Fighter IV is slated to be released on Nintendo’s 3DS with 3D functionality

Development

Capcom officially hinted at the game in early September 2009 when they opened a teaser site in their official Japanese website. An official announcement was made on September 28, 2009 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with the arcade release initially only considered a possibility depending on fan support. On April 4, 2010, an arcade release was confirmed by Ono during the finals of the Japanese Street Fighter IV nationals. Although admittedly possible, a PC release has been questioned due to the rampant piracy the original Street Fighter IV

suffered on the PC.

Characters

Super Street Fighter IV includes all the original 25 characters from the home version of Street Fighter IV, as well as ten new characters, all of which are unlocked at the start of the game. After the game’s release, Ono also showed interest in making additional characters available in the future as downloadable content (DLC) including Rainbow Mika and Rolento.

Among the added characters are Dee Jay and T. Hawk from Super Street Fighter II, who were initially intended for the original Street Fighter IV but later dropped.Adon from the original Street Fighter and Cody and Guy from Final Fight are available, based on their iterations in the Street Fighter Alpha series. Additionally, Dudley, Ibuki, and Makoto return from the Street Fighter III series.

The first among the two new characters is Juri, a young South Korean female Taekwondo fighter, who works for Seth’s organization, S.I.N. Juri has an energy-boosting device implanted inside her left eye called the “Feng Shui Engine”, which provides her with time-warping abilities. The second fighter, Hakan, is a Turkish oil wrestler who seeks to prove that Turkish oil wrestling is the greatest fighting style on earth.

In Super Street Fighter IV, all characters feature at least two Ultra Combos. However, only one Ultra can be selected at a time in a way similar to the Super Arts in Street Fighter III.

Each returning character from the original version of Street Fighter IV features an additional third costume, whereas newly introduced characters have only two available. Old costumes from the original Street Fighter IV can be used after purchasing DLC costume packs from Xbox Live or PlayStation Network. These costumes are automatically loaded in the Super version.

Game modes

The game features a few additional online modes, including Team Battle with up to 8 players, Replay Channel, which allows players to view and save replays from around the world, and Endless Battle, in which the winner plays against a rotating group of up to 8 players. The game also sees the return of the car and barrels bonus stages from Final Fight and the Street Fighter II series, and rival battles, where a dialogue sequence is played when a certain pair of characters face each other. However, survival and time attack mode were removed from the original.

The King of Fighters XIII is set to appear at E3 2010, confirming the game will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 video game console platforms.

Gameplay :

The game removes some of the gameplay systems used in the previous game; the Guard attack system, the Critical Counter system, the Clash System as well as the dynamic, zooming camera. In their place however, there are new systems that have been confirmed to be added, the first of the three is the new EX Mode, which convert each characters’ super moves into more powerful versions that allows one bar from the player’s power gauge for EX Special Moves and two bars from the player’s power gauge for EX Desperation Moves. Another new addition is Hyper Drive mode, which gives the player unlimited use of Drive Cancels for a while once the Hyper Drive Gauge has been maxed, and the last new feature confirmed for the game is the Drive Cancel system, which opens up new combo possibilities. The game also marks the return of the multi-bar power gauge that was introduced in The King of Fighters ‘97.[4] In addition to standard and EX Desperation Moves, a new class of Desperation Move entitled “NEO MAX” are included in the game and require that three stocks of gauge be exchanged in order to perform one, making it similar to Hidden Desperation Moves (The King of Fighters 2002) and Leader Desperation Moves (The King of Fighters 2003). These can also be canceled from standard Desperation Moves, making them similar to the “Dream Cancels” from The King of Fighters XI.

Plot and characters :

The game takes place after The King of Fighters XI. The fighter Ash Crimson has absorbed the powers from two of the descendants of the clans who sealed the Orochi away 1,800 years ago, Chizuru Kagura and Iori Yagami, while Kyo Kusanagi is to be his last victim. As Elisabeth Blanctorche prepares to stop Ash, fighters receive an invitation to another King of Fighters tournament hosted by a person labelled as “R”.

The roster of The King of Fighters XIII will feature all the characters who appeared in The King of Fighters XII, including the two console-exclusive characters, Elisabeth Branctorche and Mature. In addition, at the Akihabara event, three new characters were announced in the form of The King of Fighters ‘94 Women’s Team (Yuri Sakazaki, King, and Mai Shiranui). Unlike The King of Fighters XII, all of the characters will be organized into proper teams this time with the exception of Ash, who is now a single entry character.

On April 22, 2010, Famitsu reported the addition of two new characters to the game: Vice for Iori Yagami’s team and Takuma Sakazaki for the Art of Fighting team. The official website was soon updated with the changes as well as adding a storyline for Iori’s team,[9] and on the April 23, 2010 location test at Hong Kong, Hwa Jai from Fatal Fury: King of Fighters has been confirmed to be in the game as the final member of Kim Kaphwan’s team.[10] The first member of the final team, K’, was revealed on April 30 with his addition to the roster page. Maxima was also revealed as the second member of K’s Team via addition to the roster page on May 7 and one week later, the final character for K’s Team, Kula Diamond, was introduced in the same way.
